About The Position

A busy New Jersey creditors’ rights law firm with a strong foreclosure practice is seeking a detail-oriented, deadline-driven legal assistant to support our foreclosure compliance workflow, limited to SCRA and bankruptcy checks. This is not a general corporate compliance role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a law firm environment, takes pride in accurate documentation, and can keep matters moving in a high-volume practice.

Requirements

• Comfort with deadlines, high volume, and detailed documentation
• Strong written communication for legal documentation and professional client updates
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a law firm, foreclosure, or creditors’ rights is preferred, but not required
• If you’re trainable, organized, and accurate, we’re willing to teach the right person our process
• Case management/client portal experience is a plus
• Experience running and documenting SCRA searches and PACER bankruptcy checks
• Familiarity with New Jersey court processes
• A steady, calm approach and strong follow-through

Responsibilities

• Perform SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) searches and generate required certificates/confirmations for foreclosure matters
• Conduct bankruptcy verifications using PACER and related tools, document results, and escalate issues appropriately
• Track and update compliance results in case management systems and client platforms
• Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure files are clear for next-step action
• Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and follow internal procedures and client guidelines
