About The Position

The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys and legal teams by managing a variety of administrative, clerical, and project tasks that ensure the smooth operation of legal processes. This position involves preparing and organizing legal documents and maintaining case files with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. The Legal Assistant acts as a liaison between clients and other legal professionals, facilitating effective communication and timely responses. By managing schedules and coordinating meetings, the Legal Assistant helps to optimize the efficiency and productivity of the legal team. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the successful delivery of legal services and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish Proficiency)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in an administrative setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical when preparing and reviewing legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Effective communication skills are employed to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and work personnel, facilitating clear and timely information exchange.
  • Problem-solving skills help in anticipating the needs of the legal team and addressing any administrative challenges that arise.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
  • Prior Legal experience / Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files.
  • Communicate with clients and other parties to relay information and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Assist in mailing and emailing correspondence.
  • Assist as needed with additional projects.
  • Be available for Saturday rotational shifts. There may be instances of additional time.
