As a Legal Assistant, you will contribute to the mission of the Chief Legal Department by working closely and in constant collaboration with litigating lawyers representing the insurers that make up the Beneva family, including L’Unique, and their insureds before the courts of Quebec. You will perform your duties within the Chief Legal Department, a member of the team that received the 2025 Canadian Bar Association – Litigation Lawyers (CBA) and Mondaq Legal Team of the Year award. You will find fulfillment in the following tasks: Work closely in a multi-site context with lawyers and other legal secretaries and participate in team meetings. Draft, send, and manage the receipt and filing of lawyers' current correspondence. Enter and track periodic reminders for lawyers' files. Prepare draft procedures, gather relevant documentation, and ensure deadlines for their submissions are met. Prepare and format court documents, such as trial records, exhibits, or pleadings. Coordinate lawyers' schedules, particularly for examinations and trials (availability of parties and witnesses, booking of rooms and court reporters). Open files, ensure they are updated, track related billing, and close them. Participate in various clerical tasks for the Chief Department, such as purchasing office supplies and preparing authorizations. Produce and compile various registers and reports.
