About The Position

Butler & Associates, P.A., a fast-paced, high-volume law firm, is looking for a full-time legal assistant that is experienced in civil litigation. Duties include keeping matters confidential; calendaring & maintaining deadlines and attorney calendars; drafting pleadings; preparing and e-filing documents; entering information accurately and efficiently in our database; establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients, court personnel and other parties; and other duties as assigned. This is an in-person position. Our employees work in compliance with federal and state laws and pass a 10-panel drug test, a criminal background check, and a conflict-of-interest check. This is a full-time position with benefits available after an introductory period. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary based on experience. Requirements

  • Organized and able to prioritize
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues, problems, or opportunities
  • Great communication skills, including spelling and grammar, along with email and phone etiquette
  • Able to work independently and multi-task
  • Knowledge of federal and state electronic filing requirements
  • Understand and apply state laws that relate to each file or case
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, and Adobe PDF
  • Typing speed greater than 50 wpm
  • At least 2 years of experience at a Legal Assistant
  • Pass a 10-panel drug test
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass a conflict-of-interest check
