About The Position

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our Denver office. This hybrid role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a blend of administrative and substantive legal work and wants to contribute meaningfully to an active civil litigation practice while working alongside experienced trial attorneys. This position supports a multi-state litigation docket focused on general liability and commercial matters, including premises liability, first-party property claims, commercial casualty matters, and trucking. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing both legal assistant and paralegal responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This position provides both administrative and litigation support to a team of attorneys handling complex civil litigation matters. You will play a key role in keeping cases organized and moving forward while also assisting with substantive legal tasks.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a hybrid role within a civil litigation practice
  • Experience with general liability or commercial litigation matters strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Colorado state and federal court procedures and e-filing systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management, scheduling, and file maintenance
  • Assist with drafting, formatting, and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
  • Manage case files from inception through resolution, including document organization and tracking deadlines
  • Coordinate and assist with discovery, including document collection, review, and production
  • Prepare exhibits, binders, and materials for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial
  • File documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing
  • Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings
  • Communicate with clients, experts, court personnel, and vendors as needed
  • Support attorneys with deposition and trial preparation
  • Maintain accurate case calendars and ensure compliance with deadlines
