About The Position

New Country is seeking a motivated and highly organized Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join the legal team of a large, established automotive group with dealerships operating across multiple states. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and exposure to a broad range of legal and business matters. Working directly with the General Counsel, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the company’s legal, compliance, corporate, and operational needs. The position offers meaningful hands-on experience, significant interaction with different areas of the business, and the opportunity to develop a broad legal skill set. Training and guidance will be provided, making this a strong opportunity for a motivated candidate looking to grow within an in-house legal environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Administrative Assistant required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certificate or relevant college degree preferred but not required with appropriate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and completing corporate filings and maintaining corporate records
  • Assisting with insurance claims and related documentation
  • Supporting regulatory and compliance matters across multiple dealerships and states
  • Assisting with manufacturer agreements and dealership-related legal matters
  • Responding to subpoenas and other document requests
  • Assisting with pre-litigation customer and employee matters
  • Drafting and preparing contracts, correspondence, legal documents, and other business materials
  • Gathering, reviewing, organizing, and preparing documents for attorney review
  • Conducting limited legal and factual research
  • Maintaining organized electronic and paper filing systems
  • Tracking legal matters, deadlines, projects, and follow-up items
  • Maintaining task lists, calendars, and important legal and corporate deadlines
  • Coordinating with dealership personnel, management, outside counsel, insurance representatives, and other business partners as needed
