About The Position

Requirements

  • Legal training with a specialization in law, including a DEC or any other relevant related education.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Legal Assistant in litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and commercial litigation procedures.
  • Excellent spoken and written French skills, with professional-level English required to communicate and follow up with clients, lawyers, and other parties involved in litigation matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, autonomy, and sense of responsibility.
  • Strong initiative and dynamic attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong client-service mindset.
  • Strong team spirit.
  • High level of rigor, discretion, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to the lawyers assigned to the role.
  • Establish contacts and follow up with various stakeholders, including clients, lawyers, and opposing parties.
  • Handle file opening, paper or electronic filing, follow-up, and organization of files, including court notices and lists of exhibits.
  • Prepare standard litigation procedures and legal documents.
  • Transcribe, draft, and revise legal documents.
  • Draft emails and review draft proceedings.
  • Coordinate evidence management, filing, and dictation.
  • Manage lawyers’ calendars and ensure rigorous follow-up of deadlines, court matters, and important reminders.
  • Coordinate the organization of examinations and depositions.
  • Perform any other related administrative tasks as needed.
