We are looking for an Immigration Legal Assistant - Supernumerary who is passionate about helping others, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and wants to build a rewarding long-term career in the legal field. If you are organized, client-focused, and motivated by meaningful work, we would love to meet you. As an Immigration Legal Assistant, you will provide critical support to our Immigration Attorneys. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being organized, managing multiple priorities, communicating with clients, and contributing to a team that makes a real difference in people's lives. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Immigration Law, including experience with USCIS and EOIR.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and online technology/software; CampLegal experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, particularly non-native English speakers.
  • Strong integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Genuine commitment to serving immigrant communities and supporting individuals through the immigration process.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in immigrant rights, social justice, or human rights is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person, providing timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance.
  • Assist with the preparation of immigration applications, petitions, motions, legal forms, correspondence, and other case documents.
  • Organize and maintain accurate physical and digital case files, evidence, records, and case information while meeting deadlines.
  • Handle paper and electronic filings, conduct basic legal research, and assist attorneys with case preparation and USCIS matters.
  • Support attorneys and paralegals, provide case updates, maintain confidentiality, and communicate important case developments to managers and team members.
