About The Position

Alston & Bird is conducting a search for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to assist with supporting its growing Dallas office. The Legal Administrative Assistant will be part of a team supporting the firm attorneys in our diverse Financial Services Groups. Previous work experience is needed with contracts; M&A; Financial Services (financial institution matters (i.e. complex transactional matters relating to the issuance of traditional and emerging payment methods, etc.); REITs and real estate investment funds matters through their formation; public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions; matters related to SEC reporting; securities law compliance and corporate governance. The Legal Administrative Assistant will also perform a variety of administrative duties including court filings, type and revise correspondence, memoranda, documents, time sheets and project work; proofreading and ensuring quality of all document action; telephone and mail distribution; coordinate and plan events; coordinate travel arrangements; and maintain files. The ideal candidate will be an excellent collaborator, is willing to learn and grow while contributing to the practice group.

Requirements

  • Work experience in administrative skills
  • Work experience in word processing skills
  • Work experience in general office procedures and filing techniques
  • Capability to concentrate on detail and organize work
  • Knowledge of transactional/corporate and Financial processes and procedures
  • Ability to work with a wide spectrum of individuals
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, PPT, and Excel
  • Exceptional administrative and word processing skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
  • Great attention to detail, and the ability to concentrate and organize work
  • Able to work well independently while handling complex situations, analytical, and self-starters
  • Able to work with a wide spectrum of individuals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, along with an enthusiastic team player attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Able to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors
  • Working knowledge and prior experience with e-Filing procedures

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred
