About The Position

Bachoco USA is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for our Fort Smith, AR location. This role performs secretarial and administrative duties for all functions in the legal department: risk, legal, and environmental. The assistant schedules appointments and conference calls, coordinates arrangements for conferences, court appearances, depositions, meetings, and travel. They organize and expedite the flow of work through the law office, follow up with other members of the firm and support staff to save attorney’s time, and compose correspondence and draft legal documents. The position also establishes and maintains highly confidential files and records, requiring a thorough knowledge of the area of law practiced and broad knowledge of filing dates, various court systems, and their local rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Can work across departments to facilitate legal risk management.
  • Able to navigate difficult personnel issues in a professional and courtesy manner.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of legal customs and practice, including risk management software.
  • Experience and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Power Point.

  • Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports.
  • Daily record keeping with electronic and hard copy filing of documents.
  • Obtain relevant information from other organizations or agencies.
  • Create and organize information, and generate reference tools for easy use by the office.
  • Prepare and format legal and management reports.
  • Maintain and update databases and tracking systems.
  • Respond to all case-related queries.
  • Ensure efficient and effective administrative information and assistance.
  • Assist in garnishments documents.
