About The Position
The UC San Diego Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering is seeking temporary, non-tenure track Lecturers (Unit 18). Unit 18 Lecturers are governed by the Memorandum of Understanding ( Contract | UCnet ). We seek applicants in all content areas such as, aerospace, controls, design, environmental, fluid mechanics, information storage, mechanics & materials, robotics, biomedical, biomaterial, medical devices, combustion, plasma and fusion, and renewables to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Requirements
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as aerospace, controls, design, environmental, fluid mechanics, information storage, mechanics & materials, robotics, biomedical, biomaterial, medical devices, combustion, plasma and fusion, and renewables.
Responsibilities
- Grading: Lecturers are responsible for turning in grades and other student records by the assigned due date.
- Feedback: Lecturers should provide constructive feedback to students. They may also advise students on academic matters.
- Supervise teaching assistants
- Keep office hours
- Respond to inquiries from students, departments, and other university personnel.
- Guide senior students in their independent study research.
