About The Position

The School of Health & Exercise Sciences (HES) at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a 1-year full-time lecturer position in Health & Exercise Sciences. This is a non-tenure track appointment with the possibility of renewal. The successful applicant will be expected to teach existing courses within the undergraduate program, potentially up to eight sections per year, including summer terms. Teaching will cover first to fourth-year courses in social determinants of health, health program evaluation, human motor behaviour, lifespan physical and motor development, physical dimensions of aging, and concussion. Delivery modes are normally in-person. The candidate will also provide service to the School of Health and Exercise Sciences and embrace and champion school values on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Lecturers are expected to participate fully in the affairs of their departments and may fulfill service obligations to the University and community.

Requirements

  • University teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • PhD in Health and Exercise Sciences (or related discipline).
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level in the fields of social determinants of health, health program evaluation, human motor behaviour, lifespan physical and motor development, physical dimensions of aging and concussion.
  • Proven record of teaching effectiveness across diverse course offerings at the university level.

Responsibilities

  • Teach existing courses within the undergraduate program.
