About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach KINE 190-First Year Experience. This course focuses on foundational skills for academic success in Kinesiology, developing essential scholarly, real-world analytical, and problem-solving skills. The curriculum covers discipline-specific writing conventions, current faculty research, and campus resources for Kinesiology majors. Emphasis is placed on cooperative learning, project management, professionalism, effective communication, and information literacy, while promoting intrapersonal and interpersonal skills to be used throughout the Kinesiology program.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of CSUSM resources and the ability to connect students with those resources.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

  • A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Higher education experience teaching in the area.
