About The Position

The Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego seeks applications for a part-time instructor to teach THRS 337, Catholic Faith and Interreligious Dialogue, for Fall 2026. This position is part of the academic curriculum for the Certificate in Catholic Theology and Ministry. Requirements

  • MA or equivalent in theology or related field.
  • Expertise in Catholic theology, including Catholic theology of interreligious dialogue as articulated in church documents from Vatican II to the present.
  • Ability to discuss a select social issue from the perspectives of at least four religious traditions, including the Catholic magisterium.
  • Ability to facilitate respectful comparative analysis.

  • PhD or equivalent in theology or related field.
  • Expertise in Catholic theology and interreligious dialogue.

Responsibilities

  • Teach THRS 337, Catholic Faith and Interreligious Dialogue, on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Fall 2026.
  • Facilitate respectful comparative analysis of social issues from the perspectives of at least four religious traditions, including the Catholic magisterium.

Benefits

  • Compensation paid on a bi-weekly basis at a per-unit rate of $2,581-$2,659, commensurate with qualifications.
