About The Position
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Department of Information Systems (IS) in the Lee Business School (LEE) invites applications for one 9-month, non-tenure track Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor-in-Residence position in Cybersecurity. The role involves teaching online-only undergraduate courses in cybersecurity, with a standard teaching load of 4 courses (12 credits) per semester for two semesters per year. Additional responsibilities may include student advising and mentoring, course development, service activities, and fostering a sense of belonging within the online undergraduate cybersecurity program. This position is housed within the IS department, which is AACSB accredited, and collaborates with the Department of Computer Science in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering to offer joint BS and MS Cybersecurity degree programs. The cybersecurity programs are interdisciplinary and overseen by a Director of Cybersecurity, with the directorship rotating between the departments.
Requirements
- A cybersecurity-related master’s degree (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.) from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

- Evidence of effective and impactful online teaching.
- Prior academic or industry experience in technology or cybersecurity.
- Certifications that pertain to the field of cybersecurity.
- Technical skills related to the use of and instruction of cybersecurity tools.
