The University of Central Florida’s Psychology Department is hiring up to two annually renewable, nine-month, non-tenure-earning Lecturer positions. Both roles support the Psychology B.S. program; one position also supports the Clinical Psychology M.A. program. The positions are based at UCF’s main Orlando campus. The second position includes teaching face-to-face graduate-program courses at the Sanford/Lake Mary campus, approximately 30 minutes from the Orlando campus. The first position’s duties include teaching a 4/4 load of large face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses, generally enrolling 75 to 400 students, and providing service in support of the Psychology B.S. program and department. The second position’s duties include teaching a 4/4 load of face-to-face, hybrid, and online undergraduate courses, teaching face-to-face courses in support of the Clinical Psychology M.A. program, and providing service to both programs and the department. Instruction and service assignments follow the department’s current equitable workload policy. The work schedule varies, and salary is negotiable. The positions offer a career path with possible promotion based on years of service and performance. The Psychology Department serves more than 4,000 undergraduate majors and over 150 graduate students. Its undergraduate program provides broad psychology education and six specialized tracks: Clinical Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Neuroscience, and General. The department emphasizes critical thinking, written and oral communication, and professional development, supported by career readiness, research opportunities, and high-impact learning experiences. The Psychology B.S. is offered face-to-face, in hybrid form, and fully online. The Clinical Psychology M.A. is a terminal master’s program offered at the Sanford/Lake Mary campus, with Applied Pre-Licensure/Non-Thesis and Research/Thesis tracks. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) or a related field from an accredited institution by the time of hire. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing interest and qualifications for teaching in one or more relevant areas or tracks, and a teaching philosophy statement of no more than three pages in 12-point Times New Roman. The statement should address relevant teaching experience and innovative strategies; applicants for the second position should also discuss relevant graduate-level Clinical Psychology teaching. Selected candidates must submit official transcripts and, where applicable, U.S. degree-equivalency evaluations. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. H-1B sponsorship, transfers, and employment-based visa processing for individuals sponsored by another employer are not available. UCF expects employees to reside in Florida when employment begins unless the posting explicitly states otherwise.
