About The Position

The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's Program in Occupational Therapy, Science, & Technology is seeking qualified ad hoc lecturers to teach courses in Occupational Therapy in Psychosocial Practice. This position provides an opportunity to educate future occupational therapists in essential aspects of mental health and psychosocial rehabilitation. The contract period is August 24, 2026-January 7, 2027, with the class starting September 2. The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee College of Health Professions & Sciences offers a wide array of health-related academic programs and is a premier urban research university. The School of Rehabilitation Sciences & Technology (RS&T) offers programs in Occupational Therapy, Assistive Technology and Accessible Design, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Performance Psychology, Rehabilitation Science, and Therapeutic Recreation. Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field with a focus on mental health and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Proven expertise in the subject areas for which you are applying to teach.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in mental health occupational therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in community-based occupational therapy models.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain office hours and/or virtual availability to assist students outside of class.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality course content related to occupational therapy in mental health, psychiatric conditions, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Ensure course materials are inclusive and accessible, adhering to university standards.
  • Develop syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and exams that align with program goals and accreditation standards.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
