Falmouth University’s MA Fine Art (online), an online programme supporting innovative and sustainable art practice in the UK and internationally, is looking to recruit a Lecturer to work on a permanent basis during Study Block 1 each year, and lead our module 'Informing Contexts.' Informing Contexts runs annually September – January and addresses art writing and research skills, historical and contemporary contexts and theory. The curriculum aims to support students to contextualise their individual practice within contemporary discourse. Over 12 weeks, students research, analyse and critically interrogate their own positionality to develop a thesis, submitted in December as a written essay or recorded lecture. The Module Leader curates the curriculum and collaborates with colleagues – a small team of Online Tutors – as Academic Lead. Individually, each person on the module team supports a Tutor Group, facilitating students’ engagement in asynchronous activities, providing formative feedback via student Journals and Falmouth Learn (our online VLE), and assessing submissions in weeks 13 – 15. Teaching staff lead live weekly ‘webinars’ addressing topics within the curriculum and providing a space for students to share writing and research in progress. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to deliver and develop this module, enabling online students to innovate and realise their ambition and potential. Module delivery is primarily asynchronous (students work flexibly too), bar scheduled webinars and staff meetings.
