About The Position

The Department of Management and Human Resources at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Management and Human Resource for part-time teaching appointments. About Cal Poly Pomona: Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students participate in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences. With a variety of degree programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and professional disciplines, the university is well known for its learn- by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model. The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus, which was once the winter ranch of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg. We acknowledge that Cal Poly Pomona resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people who are the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar. The university’s nearly 30,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus’s more than 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master’s degree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and a doctorate in educational leadership. College of Business Administration: Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. In 2022, the Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established through a transformative gift from alumni David and Ruth Singelyn. Today, the graduate school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized master’s programs. The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, three-building complex, featuring modern classrooms, lecture halls, labs, conference rooms, student club spaces, and offices for more than 100 faculty and staff. Department of Management and Human Resources: The Management and Human Resources (MHR) Department is one of six departments in the College of Business Administration and the Singelyn Graduate School, which serves more than 5,000 students. Our students are highly diverse, including first-generation students, many Latinx students, African American students, and students from other minority groups. The MHR Department has 18 tenure-track faculty members, 16 adjunct faculty members, and more than 700 students in this major. The faculty members of the MHR department prepare students to become effective professionals by employing the “become by doing” philosophy and the “teacher-scholar” model. Through discipline-based knowledge, we develop our students’ skills in management, human resources and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to graduate students who are productive and responsible citizens. The Position: The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May.
