Brandeis University Education Program seeks to hire a part-time lecturer to teach ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders ONLINE in Fall 2026 as part of a Masters Degree program in Teacher Leadership. This course is taught in the Fall semester of a hybrid program that involves in-person study on the Brandeis campus during two summers and online learning during the intervening school year. The purpose of the course is to introduce teacher leaders to action/practitioner research as a form of professional development and a tool for studying their own practice as teachers and teacher leaders. The course lays a conceptual and practical foundation in action/practitioner research and supports students in transforming a problem of practice related to their teaching into a researchable question. ED 285 includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning and is followed by a Spring semester course in which students do a study of their work as facilitators of teacher learning in their schools.
