About The Position

The Department of Computer Science of Bowie State University invites applications for a full-time, Lecturer position, starting Fall 2026. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, and service. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and growing department and is expected to contribute to the undergraduate program.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment, or a Masters degree with an exceptionally strong teaching record
• A commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate level
• Anticipated completion of a doctoral degree. no later than June 2026 is acceptable
• Evidence of effective teaching and mentoring

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in teaching introductory and low level courses, including: Computer Science I, Computer Science II, Computer Organization & Architecture, Discrete Structures

Responsibilities

• Assist in the education mission of the department
• Teach undergraduate level courses in computer science
• Advise and mentor students
• Provide academic service as requested by the Chair of the Department
