Lecturer - ANTH 240: Intro to Biological Anthropology (Fall 2026)
About The Position
The Department of Anthropology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach ANTH 240: Introduction to Biological Anthropology. This course introduces students to the subfield of anthropology that examines human origins, evolution, biological variation, and adaptability. Topics include the basic principles of genetics and inheritance, evolutionary theory, primate biology and behavior, the fossil record of human and nonhuman primates, and contemporary human biological diversity. Three (3) sections are available, all meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays at different times: 4:00 to 5:15 p.m., 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., or 7:00 to 8:15 p.m.
Requirements
- A master's degree in Anthropology.
- Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
- Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
- Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
- Must comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment (mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act).
