About The Position

Michels Corporation is seeking a Leave Manager to oversee and administer all employee leave programs. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws while providing a consistent, compliant, and employee-centered leave experience. The Leave Manager will act as the subject matter expert for leave of absence programs, collaborating closely with HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and leadership to support employees through complex leave situations. Embodying the corporate culture, professionalism, and excellence in customer service are key aspects of this position. The salary range for this role is $129,000 - $194,000 annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preference for HR).
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with significant focus on leave of absence administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills; must present a professional, positive image at all times.
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and state and local leave laws.
  • Experience managing complex leave cases and interpreting regulations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification.
  • Experience in a multi-state or complex leave environment.
