About The Position

The Leave & Benefits Manager will be responsible for overseeing the administration and management of employee leave programs and benefits. This role ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, manages vendor relationships, and provides support and guidance to employees regarding their leave and benefits options. The position involves developing and implementing policies, analyzing benefit trends, and ensuring the effective delivery of benefits programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a significant focus on leave administration and benefits management.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and benefits regulations (ERISA, COBRA, ACA).
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CEBS, CBP, or PHR/SPHR.
  • Experience with a 25% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage all employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, and other approved leaves of absence.
  • Oversee the daily administration of company benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to leave and benefits (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA).
  • Manage relationships with third-party benefit providers and vendors, including negotiating contracts and monitoring service levels.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave and benefits inquiries, providing clear and accurate information and support.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about their leave and benefits options.
  • Analyze benefits data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and program improvements.
  • Conduct regular audits of leave and benefits programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the open enrollment process for benefits.
  • Prepare reports for management on leave and benefits utilization, costs, and trends.
