About The Position
This position is responsible for reading the work orders for special instructions for cutting the leather for upholstery furniture.
Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
- Must be able to work in noisy environments
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
- Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Previous leather cutting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Verifies that leather and pattern correspond to the work order.
- Inspects leather for defects and verifies the dye lots.
- Locates correct pattern and checks swatches for proper alignment of leather.
- Marks out the leather and cuts to proper size and shape.
- Marks and bundles all parts together and places in proper area for pick-up.
- Records all yardages used on ticket.
- Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner.
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
