The Leasing Specialist 5 plays a critical role in supporting lease and loan transactions by ensuring documentation accuracy, lien perfection, and timely funding. This role partners closely with Sales (Relationship Managers), Credit (Portfolio Managers), Legal, Documentation Prep, and Funding teams to support smooth, compliant closings. The environment is fast‑paced and dynamic, with changing priorities and exposure to a wide variety of dealers, manufacturers, and transaction structures. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six to eight years of experience in leasing or other financial operations

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review loan and lease documentation, coordinating closely with the Documentation Preparation team.
  • Manage documentation returned from doc prep through execution and transition to the loan closing function.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant prior to funding.
  • Run comprehensive UCC searches to confirm lien positions.
  • Submit PMSI filings and ensure proper PMSI status based on UCC results.
  • Maintain first‑position security interests for all applicable items.
  • Prepare and manage a high volume of outgoing subordination letters.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to secure required subordinations and ensure proper lien priority.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal, and other internal partners to resolve documentation questions and discrepancies.
  • Actively track and facilitate all moving parts of a transaction to support timely closings and minimize customer impact.
  • Ensure all closing requirements are satisfied prior to funding.
  • Submit completed documentation packages to the Funding team for DFS Wholesale transactions.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines in a high‑volume environment.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex documentation and closing issues.
  • Participate in cross‑training to support both documentation preparation and loan closing activities.
  • Provide team coverage as needed within a small, collaborative group.
  • Learn primarily through peer‑to‑peer training, job shadowing, and desk manuals.
