About The Position

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets. We are looking for an energetic and results oriented Leasing Representative to join our team in the Waterloo area on a full-time basis. This position will be responsible for leasing Brightwood, a brand new building scheduled to open this spring and would be ideal for someone with strong customer service experience.

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience in the property management and/or real estate industry
• 1-2 years’ experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends
• Must be willing to travel between properties for showings. Mileage is compensated on a per KM rate.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience posting ads on Kijiji
• Familiarity with Yardi is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Field all leasing communication by phone, email and in person
• Perform showings of suites and tours of properties
• Follow up with prospective tenants after showing to close the sale
• Assist with administrative duties
• Manage electronic advertisements
• Process applications and lease signings
• Perform bi-weekly market surveys
• Utilize Yardi Customer Relationship Software in day-to-day leasing functions
• Other duties as assigned
