About The Position

The Leasing Manager focuses on leasing apartments while achieving the highest effective rent levels possible and maintaining a strong customer service/satisfaction philosophy. This role assists in the community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident customer and service. The company prides itself in utilizing diverse employment backgrounds, and often, their most successful leasing consultants were once waiters/waitresses, customer service representatives, call center employees, or in the hotel industry. Fortis is dedicated to helping individuals pursue their career goals.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years multi-family property management experience
  • Strong marketing and sales background
  • Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to successfully lead, manage, and teach people
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong Communication skills both orally and written
  • Good decision-making ability
  • Proficient sales skills
  • Professional image
  • High School graduate or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Two or four-year college degree preferred
  • Industry and related continuing education
  • Proficiency in social media preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establishment and implementation of standards for telephone and in-person sales skills to achieve qualified leases while maximizing the highest possible effective rent
  • Accurately quote pricing
  • Assess the effectiveness of concessions and advertising and make recommendations to the Community Manager
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
  • Implement corrective and proactive strategies to increase traffic
  • Ensure follow up on all prospects
  • Review and analyze traffic results
  • Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects and review leases for accuracy
  • Ensure move-in packages are completed and distributed
  • Inspect apartments are move in ready
  • Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
  • Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
  • Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
  • Other duties as delegated
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Fair Housing policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ADA policies and procedures
