About The Position

GC Realty & Development, LLC is seeking a Leasing Manager to lead their leasing team and oversee the entire leasing process for approximately 1,500 units across Chicago and its suburbs. This role is crucial for ensuring vacant units are filled quickly with suitable residents. The company has 23 years of experience in property management and brokerage and is looking for a leader who understands Chicagoland real estate and enjoys working with investors.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Leasing Agent.
• 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role (5+ years as a Leasing Supervisor preferred).
• Valid Illinois Broker's License (required, no exceptions).
• Working knowledge of local and state landlord/tenant law, including suburb and village rental requirements.
• Experience with leasing, owner agreements, and documents for third-party landlords.
• Comfort using the MLS and other rental databases for pricing, comparing, and marketing units.
• Proven track record in hiring, training, coaching, and holding a leasing team accountable.
• Strong customer service skills with tenants, applicants, clients, vendors, and other real estate professionals.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and professional reference checks.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years as a Leasing Supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire leasing process, from marketing vacant units to executing the signed lease.
• Set rental rates for new and existing clients based on market conditions.
• Approve marketing strategies and adjust rates for vacant units.
• Manage showing schedules to ensure they remain full, and assist properties with no applications after 7 days.
• Approve or deny all applications within 3 days, including those involving new subsidy programs or grants.
• Review new leases and renewals for accuracy before execution.
• Lead a team of showing agents, a marketing coordinator, and an underwriter, providing coaching, accountability, and ensuring adequate staffing.
• Handle leasing client escalations and provide status updates.
• Ensure all leasing activities comply with local and state landlord/tenant laws and company policies.
