About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Leasing Consultant (Tax Credit Exp) to join our team and play a key role in creating an exceptional experience for prospective and current residents. As our Leasing Consultant, you'll be the welcoming face of the community—responsible for creating exceptional experiences for prospective and current residents while supporting the overall success of the property.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of Tax Credit/LIHTC or Affordable Housing experience — required.
  • Working knowledge of HUD rules and regulations and low-income housing program policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leasing, property management, or related customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience assisting with recertifications, move-in files, compliance documentation, and affordable housing requirements.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • college degree preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi, ResMan, On-Site, or other property management software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and engaging prospective residents, current residents, and guests in person, by phone, and through electronic communication
  • Assist with property operations in compliance with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations, including required documentation and reporting.
  • Assist with move-in, recertification, and resident files to help maintain compliance with applicable funding and program requirements.
  • Conducting community tours and showcasing apartment homes and amenities
  • Assisting prospective residents throughout the leasing process, from initial inquiry through move-in
  • Processing rental applications, lease renewals, and related documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Responding to resident questions, concerns, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting resident retention efforts through outstanding customer service and community engagement
  • Maintaining organized and accurate resident files, records, and leasing documentation
  • Inspecting community appearance and coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Assisting with marketing initiatives and outreach efforts to support occupancy goals
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, company policies, and applicable laws
  • Promoting a positive, welcoming, and inclusive community environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned
