About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Leasing Consultant to join our team at the Arbors at Turnberry, a 367-unit community located in Pickerington, Ohio. As a Leasing Consultant at Ackermann Group, you will be responsible for interacting with prospective and current residents to present the apartment community in its most favorable light while sustaining acceptable levels of occupancy. Additional responsibilities include: Sales and administrative aspects with occasional light manual labor. Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of community product knowledge, fair housing, and lease policies. Ensuring all documentation related to leasing, fair housing compliance, and resident interactions is accurate, complete, and timely. Establishing and maintaining knowledge of basic community data points including # of units, year built, building materials, utility providers etc. Maintaining a current understanding of area micro and macro market conditions sufficient to accurately influence the sales approach. Routinely inspecting units and community campus to ensure market readiness, executing remedies (I.E., picking up trash or tidying a unit) and collaborating with Maintenance team when necessary. Acting as first point of contact to respond to prospect and resident queries either in person or via technology or phone, converting prospect queries into physical tours and distributing complex matters to appropriate person or member of Management. Delivering exceptional customer experiences that garner positive reviews. Taking initiative to anticipate and resolve resident issues and inquiries independently. This includes proactively identifying areas for improvement in customer satisfaction and providing solutions or recommendations to Community Manager, thereby contributing to a positive and supportive community experience. Participating in resident after hours events and may be responsible for certain community outreach efforts to market the desirability of the community. Greeting and touring prospective residents through community garnering a lease a reasonable percentage of the time. Completing all administrative aspects (I.E., guest card completion, lease preparation etc.) associated with the leasing or move in process. Documenting (and potentially helps schedule) routine service needs expressed by residents. Demonstrating proficiency in property management and CRM software for managing prospect information, resident details, tasks, and follow-ups. This includes accurately logging guest cards, tracking resident interactions, scheduling appointments, and generating reports to support leasing efforts and community goals. Working effectively as part of a team, fostering open communication and support among community staff, including the Maintenance team and Community Manager. This collaboration ensures that resident needs are met quickly and effectively, promoting a high level of satisfaction within the community. Taking responsibility for other work-related tasks as assigned by Community Manager.

Requirements

  • Availability to work full-time: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm + rotating Saturdays, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
  • Previous customer service experience is required.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly develop rapport with prospective residents.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Leasing and/or sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, Rent Café, and CRM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with prospective and current residents to present the apartment community favorably and maintain acceptable occupancy levels.

  • Regularly inspect units and the community campus for market readiness, perform minor upkeep (e.g., tidying units, picking up trash), and coordinate with the Maintenance team.
  • Serve as the primary contact for prospect and resident inquiries via in-person, phone, or technology, converting inquiries into tours and escalating complex issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences to generate positive reviews.
  • Proactively identify and resolve resident issues and inquiries, suggesting improvements to customer satisfaction to the Community Manager.
  • Participate in resident events and potentially engage in community outreach to promote the desirability of the community.
  • Greet and tour prospective residents, aiming to secure leases.
  • Complete all administrative tasks associated with the leasing or move-in process, including guest card completion and lease preparation.
  • Document and potentially schedule routine resident service requests.
  • Utilize property management and CRM software for managing prospect and resident information, tasks, and follow-ups, including logging guest cards, tracking interactions, scheduling, and generating reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with community staff, including the Maintenance team and Community Manager, to ensure resident needs are met promptly.
  • Undertake other assigned tasks as directed by the Community Manager.
