About The Position

Ackermann Group is seeking a full-time Leasing Consultant to join their growing team on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. The Leasing Consultant will be responsible for interacting with prospective and current residents to present the apartment community favorably while maintaining acceptable occupancy levels. This role involves sales and administrative duties, with occasional light manual labor. The position requires establishing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of community product knowledge, fair housing, and lease policies, ensuring all related documentation is accurate and timely. The consultant will also maintain knowledge of community data points, area market conditions, and routinely inspect units and the community campus for market readiness, collaborating with the Maintenance team as needed. They will serve as the first point of contact for prospect and resident inquiries, converting queries into tours and escalating complex issues. Delivering exceptional customer experiences, anticipating and resolving resident issues, and contributing to a positive community experience are key. The role may involve participating in resident events and community outreach. Responsibilities include greeting and touring prospective residents, garnering leases, completing administrative tasks associated with leasing and move-ins, documenting service needs, and demonstrating proficiency in property management and CRM software. Teamwork and open communication with the Community Manager and Maintenance team are essential. Other assigned tasks by the Community Manager are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Availability to work full-time: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm + rotating Saturdays, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
  • Previous customer service experience is required.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly develop rapport with prospective residents.
  • The ability to work well in a team setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Leasing and/or sales experience is highly preferred!
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, Rent Café, and CRM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interacting with prospective and current residents to present the apartment community favorably.
  • Maintaining acceptable occupancy levels.
  • Sales and administrative aspects with occasional light manual labor.
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of community product knowledge, fair housing, and lease policies.
  • Ensuring all documentation related to leasing, fair housing compliance, and resident interactions is accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Establishing and maintaining knowledge of basic community data points.
  • Maintaining a current understanding of area micro and macro market conditions.
  • Routinely inspecting units and community campus to ensure market readiness, executing remedies (e.g., picking up trash or tidying a unit), and collaborating with Maintenance team when necessary.
  • Acting as first point of contact to respond to prospect and resident queries either in person or via technology or phone.
  • Converting prospect queries into physical tours and distributing complex matters to appropriate person or member of Management.
  • Delivering exceptional customer experiences that garner positive reviews.
  • Taking initiative to anticipate and resolve resident issues and inquiries independently.
  • Proactively identifying areas for improvement in customer satisfaction and providing solutions or recommendations to Community Manager.
  • Participating in resident after hours events and may be responsible for certain community outreach efforts.
  • Greeting and touring prospective residents through community garnering a lease a reasonable percentage of the time.
  • Completing all administrative aspects (e.g., guest card completion, lease preparation etc.) associated with the leasing or move in process.
  • Documenting (and potentially helps schedule) routine service needs expressed by residents.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in property management and CRM software for managing prospect information, resident details, tasks, and follow-ups.
  • Accurately logging guest cards, tracking resident interactions, scheduling appointments, and generating reports to support leasing efforts and community goals.
  • Working effectively as part of a team, fostering open communication and support among community staff, including the Maintenance team and Community Manager.
  • Taking responsibility for other work-related tasks as assigned by Community Manager.
