About The Position

The Lease Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of oil and gas production wells, processing equipment, and related facilities. This role supports daily production activities by ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining production targets, and complying with all safety and environmental regulations. The position requires strong operational knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a field environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Lease Operator experience required.
  • Valid US Driver's License with acceptable driving record required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of production equipment, separation systems, and field operations.
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and gas production equipment.
  • Understanding of safety procedures, work permitting systems, and gas testing requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to call-outs as required.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and climb ladders and stairways.
  • Ability to wear and use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other required safety equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.

  • Previous experience in oil and gas production operations or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate oil, gas, and water production facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of wells, separators, tanks, valves, meters, and related equipment.
  • Record production data, gauge tanks, collect samples, and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Monitor pressure, temperature, flow rates, chemical injection rates, and other critical operating parameters.
  • Adjust process conditions to maintain production efficiency and product specifications.
  • Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing to support maintenance activities.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment or process issues.
  • Perform basic maintenance, including changing filters, lubricating equipment, tightening valve packing, and clearing blockages.
  • Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities as needed.
  • Maintain company vehicles and field equipment in safe working condition.
  • Support facility startup, winterization, and equipment optimization efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding facility conditions and operational changes.
