About The Position

The Learning and Technology Strategist team performs their roles through service requests, resource creation, media production, researching emerging tools and practices, developing and delivering workshops and presentations and collaboration with other departments on projects and activities. This role combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods and technologies and requires a delicate balance to ensure participants receive a high-quality education. This team reports to the Learning and Technology Manager, who reports to the Assistant Director of Educational Technology. MSU Information Technology provides the primary leadership for strategic, financial, and policy initiatives affecting information technology (IT) across MSU. MSU IT offers technology resources that support MSU’s mission of providing education, conducting research, and advancing engagement.

Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program
  • One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in D2L Brightspace administration and technical support, faculty training including workshop designs, facilitation, and consultations, instructional design, UX design, digital media, AI; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design (ID) or related fields.
  • 2+ years experience in D2L Brightspace administration and technical support
  • 2+ years experience with faculty training including workshop designs, facilitation, and consultations
  • 2+ years experience with instructional design, UX design, digital media, AI or equivalent experience as an ID

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain training materials for classes, workshops, and webinars
  • Provide formative feedback to instructors on their developing courses and review established courses for quality using a QM rubric
  • Work to implement new technology and maintain existing systems
  • Review and research proposed additions to our supported technology portfolio and make recommendations for implementation
