About The Position

Our LSOs play a vital role in nurturing students’ learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Working alongside classroom teachers and our Learning Diversity Leader, LSOs support students with diverse learning needs — ensuring that every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish.

Responsibilities

  • providing a commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people
  • proactively monitoring and supporting student wellbeing
  • demonstrating duty of care to students in relation to their physical and mental wellbeing
  • displaying a proven commitment to developing independence in students with additional learning needs
  • assisting and working with the classroom teacher to provide the required support for individual students
  • working under the instruction and supervision of the classroom teacher or other supervising teacher
  • effectively using information technologies as a tool for learning
  • meeting and working with students at designated locations and times
  • supporting and caring for individual students with specific learning, medical and hygiene and self-care needs
  • assisting students to attend special events such as excursions, camps and swimming where required
