Position assists students eligible for special education and related services, and their classroom teachers, with helping students achieve their functional living skills, goals and objectives. Assesses each student's individual academic, functional, and behavioral needs, individualizes the regular K-12 curriculum to each student and develops IEPs as necessary. Activities and lessons reflect state standards, district curricula, lesson objectives, student academic achievement/functional academic goals, transition plans, behavior plans, 504 plans and/or IEPs. Maintains a safe and productive classroom/resource room environment. Consults with district behavioral staff and outside agencies to support school and transition goals.
