About The Position

The Learning Solutions Leader will own the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-impact learning solutions that accelerate business outcomes across our global workforce. This leader brings deep expertise in instructional systems design (ISD), adult learning, and modern talent development, combined with FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model, to deliver best-in-class, scalable, measurable, and learner-centered solutions. The ideal candidate is a strategic, forward-thinking problem solver and strong relationship builder who operates as a player-coach: leading a team of learning designers while personally creating innovative learning solutions for large-scale, high-impact initiatives. This role is part of the enterprise Learning & Development (L&D) team and reports to the Chief Learning Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Adult Learning, Education, Organizational Development, HR, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in learning design & development, preferably in large global organizations.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, preferably leading senior designers or consultants and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in ISD, instructional design methodologies, and adult learning principles, with a strong portfolio of modern, multi-modal learning solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into effective learning and performance solutions, including performance consulting, needs analysis, and solution roadmap creation.
  • Experience applying continuous improvement to learning design processes and using analytics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.
  • Ability to travel up to an estimated 25%.
  • Ability to work during CST or EST business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute learning solutions strategy; partner with the Chief Learning Officer, Learning Council, FLIGHT DECK Operations, Global Talent Organization, HR, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to shape and execute a business-aligned learning solutions strategy and portfolio.
  • Performance consulting and prioritization; serve as a trusted advisor, conducting needs analysis, diagnosing business problems, and recommending and prioritizing performance-focused learning solutions that build critical capabilities and future skills.
  • Player-coach team leadership; Lead, develop, and coach a team of Learning Solutions Designers, fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement, and building team capability in modern learning practices (e.g., performance consulting, blended and digital learning, experiential learning, AI-enabled design). Personally design and develop solutions for enterprise, large-scale, or high-visibility programs, modeling design excellence and contemporary practices.
  • End-to-end ISD and multi-modal design; Ensure the relevant, impactful, and measurable design, development, and sustainment of comprehensive learning solutions aligned to GE Aerospace business objectives. Apply evidence-based learning science, adult learning principles, and ISD methodologies to create experiences that drive behavior change and performance, and design multi-modal learning (instructor-led in-person and virtual, eLearning, self-paced, cohort-based, social/collaborative learning, and performance support). Champion learner experience, accessibility, and inclusive design.
  • Enterprise collaboration and standards; Collaborate closely with HR/Talent/Learning partners, business leaders, and other learning teams, managing stakeholder expectations, trade-offs, and timelines in a complex, matrixed environment. Partner across GE Aerospace’s learning community to leverage common content models and design standards, ensuring a consistent learner experience across programs and teams.
  • Lean, FLIGHT DECK, and continuous improvement; Apply lean principles and GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK operating system to the learning design lifecycle to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, continuously refining standard work and leveraging data and feedback to improve learner experience and outcomes and demonstrate impact to the business.
  • External partnerships and leading practices; Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key external partners and vendors, maximizing opportunities to collaborate, leverage leading practices, and scale design capacity while maintaining quality and cost targets.
