About The Position

The Learning Resource Paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs in both classroom and resource settings. Working under the direction of the Learning Resource Director, the paraprofessional assists students individually and in small groups while helping implement accommodations, interventions, and support strategies designed to foster student growth and success. The paraprofessional serves as a positive role model and contributes to a safe, orderly, and faith-filled learning environment that reflects the mission of Catholic education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Queen of Apostles School.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when working with students and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with special education practices, accommodations, and intervention strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups.
  • Reinforce academic concepts and learning objectives introduced by classroom teachers.
  • Support students who are performing below grade-level expectations or who require accommodations and modifications.
  • Assist in implementing interventions aligned with student learning plans and Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies.
  • Support behavioral interventions and positive classroom management practices.
  • Work closely with the Learning Resource Director, classroom teachers, and members of the school leadership team.
  • Assist teachers in adapting instructional materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Participate in meetings and other collaborative planning efforts as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication regarding student progress and emerging concerns.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging educational climate.
  • Organize and supervise educational and recreational activities that promote student development.
  • Assist with classroom organization and instructional preparation.
  • Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
  • Monitor student performance and progress.
  • Assist in identifying students who may benefit from additional intervention and support.
  • Help maintain records and documentation related to student services and interventions.
  • Provide feedback to teachers regarding student achievement and engagement.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding student progress and academic performance.
  • Participate in parent conferences and meetings related to student support when requested.
  • Assist with communication efforts related to student interventions and accommodations.
  • Actively foster and support Catholic beliefs, traditions, and practices.
  • Model Christian values and promote respect for the dignity of every person.
  • Support the mission of Catholic education through daily interactions with students and families.
  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and other faith-based activities as required.
  • Assist with duties such as lunch, recess, carpool, and classroom coverage as assigned.
  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and required school events.
  • Support extracurricular activities, clubs, and other school programs as needed.
