About The Position

The Learning Lab Teacher (Middle Grades) is a specialized instructional role dedicated to driving student achievement through targeted academic intervention. Operating within the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, this educator designs and delivers Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions during the school day. A primary focus of the role is providing academic tutoring (focus on math) and teaching intervention classes/groups to close foundational learning gaps, scaffold core curriculum concepts, and explicitly teach essential executive functioning skills—such as organization, time management, and study habits—to build lifelong academic self-efficacy for middle school learners. In addition, the Learning Lab teacher provides a trauma-sensitive space for students who may struggle with emotional regulation within the regular classroom, and works to provide continuity of education, outside of the general classroom.
