About The Position

The Learning Lab Teacher serves as a teacher responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Learning Lab program. This role extends Tier 1 instruction through data-driven intervention and enrichment systems, ensuring all scholars receive targeted support aligned to their academic needs. The Learning Lab Teacher engages in data analysis cycles, collaborates with instructional staff, and ensures alignment between classroom instruction and Learning Lab programming. This role plays a key part in advancing MTSS systems and accelerating student achievement across the school. Through a collaborative instructional model, the Learning Lab Teacher partners with classroom teachers and education specialists to provide targeted instruction that complements and extends Tier 1 learning. Similar to the co-teaching and small-group instructional rotations that occur within the classroom, the Learning Lab Teacher uses assessment data to design and facilitate strategically grouped instruction through a blended learning model that includes teacher-led small groups, digital learning, and targeted practice. Under the direction of the Principal, the Learning Lab Teacher works alongside instructional teams to reinforce grade-level standards, address individual student needs, and ensure a cohesive instructional experience that accelerates student learning.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • A CA state Multiple or Single subject teaching credential or intern credential, with an English Learner Authorization as required by the state of California
  • Demonstrated mastery of classroom skills including classroom management, planning, assessment, data analysis, and instructional practices
  • Proficiency with various technologies and teaching tools

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree and/or State of California Preliminary Administrative Credential
  • Bilingual ability preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaboration with grade-level teams to analyze progress monitoring data and make intervention and enrichment decisions for all scholars
  • Designs and implements systems to monitor and track the delivery of small group instruction and scholar progress
  • Leads the coordinates small group scholar interventions in literacy and/or math skills based on student performance
  • Develops and implements a system to monitor and track the delivery of instruction in small group settings.
  • Develops and implements a system for scholars to monitor and track progress of their online learning platforms.
  • Curates and organizes instructional resources to support small group lesson
  • Ensures alignment between Tier 1 instruction and Learning Lab supports, adjusting plans based on student data
  • Establishes and maintains a joyful, structured, and academically focused Learning Lab environment aligned to schoolwide expectations
  • Manages the smooth and efficient execution of rotations and transitions to maximize instructional time
  • Builds student ownership and agency through goal setting, reflection, and progress monitoring
  • Maintains high behavioral expectations while fostering a culture of respect, safety, and engagement
  • Ensures fidelity of instructional models across all Learning Lab stations
  • Provides targeted small group instruction and Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions based on student need
  • Actively monitors scholar progress across digital platforms and small group instruction
  • Analyzes effectiveness of instructional strategies and adjusts based on student outcomes
  • Implements and refines learning lab structures to support differentiated instruction
  • Ensures all scholars engage in meaningful, standards-aligned learning opportunities
  • Partners with the Student Study Team (SST) and MTSS structures, supporting academic intervention planning and decision-making
  • Serves as a case manager for identified scholars, overseeing intervention plans, progress monitoring, and documentation
  • Communicates student progress and intervention outcomes to families and classroom teachers
  • Interprets and manages student data across multiple platforms to inform instructional decisions
  • Maintains documentation of interventions and contributes to schoolwide MTSS
  • Designs, facilitates, and participates in professional learning for Learning Lab staff to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes
  • Provides ongoing feedback to strengthen the Learning Lab program by supporting its implementation, monitoring effectiveness, and using data to drive continuous improvement.
