About The Position

The Learning & Engagement Contingent will aid in a variety of Learning and Engagement roles at the Columbus Museum of Art. This is a contingent position and will be asked to work on “as needed” basis or at the convenience of an individual’s personal schedule.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in education, youth and family programming, or customer service.
• Ability to communicate and work well with staff and non-museum professionals (such as teachers and caregivers) on collaborative projects.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with people of all ages in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner.
• Willingness to be flexible with work schedule (including weekends and evenings) to accommodate programs.
• The ability to think creatively, stay organized, and approach assigned roles with strategic problem-solving and self-sufficiency.
• Demonstratable cultural competency and comfort engaging with diverse peoples and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in another language in addition to English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Learning and Engagement with program preparation, execution, and reflection.
• Organize, maintain, reset the Studio space, coordinating with L&E management for maintenance and facility needs.
• Organize, maintain, and prep hands-on activities in the galleries.
• Interact with visitors to create a welcoming and creative environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
