We’re looking for a full-time Learning & Development Specialist to join our team. This position combines creativity, collaboration, and strategy to design and deliver training programs that align with the credit union’s goals and workplace culture. This role is responsible for onboarding the credit union’s new hires, conducting training, executing the credit union’s training plan, helping to administer our learning management system, managing employee intranet, and much more!

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and onboard new hires, helping them feel part of the team from day one.
  • Create training schedules, coordinate training sessions, coordinate with area managers to ensure an organized, successful start for the new hires.
  • Stay informed about credit union policies and procedures, reinforce operational knowledge and experience through various channels, and deliver hands on training by visiting branch locations as needed.
  • Create and maintain accurate training materials that are clear, engaging, and up to date with our credit union policies and procedures.
  • Training materials include procedures, job aids, videos, assessments, activities and curriculums.
  • Conduct engaging training for various positions including new hires, transfers and other training needs.
  • Effectively transfer knowledge of credit union operations.
  • Complete branch teller and member services training; assist with training in other areas as needed.
  • Coordinate engaging, interactive training sessions (both instructor-led and self- guided) from planning to implementation – including creating training materials, session administration, maintaining training records, and conducting sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with department subject matter experts to develop specialized training content, share best practices, and support session facilitation.
  • Coach and motivate staff on member relationship building and contribute to credit union goals.
  • Evaluate and identify training needs.
  • Provide relevant feedback through written training summaries and assessments.
  • Maintain and update the credit union’s employee portal, The Spark, and the credit union’s learning management system.
  • Monitor industry trends; recommend and incorporate best practices into training initiatives.
  • Research technology to enhance and/or gamify the training experience.
  • Prepare reports and additional duties as assigned.
