About The Position

Marbles Kids Museum is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual for a Learning & Community Engagement Internship. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in facilitating play-based learning programs for museum guests, school groups, and community members. The intern will also assist with special events, gather guest feedback through surveys, and support the Engagement Team with program preparation and delivery. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in education, child development, museum studies, or related fields, providing valuable experience in a mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a formal education class that requires an internship for academic credit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children and families from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and welcoming manner.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Museum Studies, STEM Education, Recreation, Sociology, Education, Communication, and Museum Studies; other disciplines with relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Engagement team to facilitate hands-on, play-based learning programs for museum guests and early childhood participants, with occasional delivery support at off-site locations.
  • Engage guests through formal and informal survey methods to better understand and improve their experience.
  • Support the setup, break down, and preparation of materials related to Learning & Community Engagement.
  • Engage museum guests in a playful, welcoming, and professional manner that reflects Marbles’ mission.
