About The Position

The Learning Centre Teacher will be responsible for implementing inclusive teaching strategies for students with academic and behavioral needs at Eskasoni Elementary & Middle School. This role involves working closely with Teaching Assistants (TAs) to ensure appropriate educational programming and creating structured and engaging learning environments. The position requires strong classroom and student management skills, as well as proficiency in technology applications to enhance instruction.

Requirements

• Valid NS teacher certification
• Learning centre teaching experience
• Knowledge and experience with technology applications to enhance instruction and learning (e.g., Google Classroom).
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, email, and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge and experience implementing inclusive teaching strategies for students with academic and behavioral needs.
• Ability to work closely with TAs to oversee and ensure appropriate educational programming.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong classroom and student management skills.
• Ability to create structured and engaging learning environments.

Nice To Haves

• Masters in Special or Inclusive Education
• Knowledge of Mi’kmaq culture, traditions and language
