About The Position

Compass Community is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Learning and Development Trainer to join their team. This role focuses on supporting and delivering learning, skills, and training to residential services, with the goal of helping children and young people reach their full potential. The trainer will work collaboratively with stakeholders, provide effective support and training to residential workers, and be comfortable traveling across regions. The position is within a children's service offering fostering, residential, and education services.

Requirements

  • Previous training and facilitation experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn the use of in-house databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload whilst remaining calm and professional.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to understand and discuss residential regulations, child care law and safeguarding issues.
  • Commitment to representing Compass Community’s Vision and Values.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare Qualification is advantageous.
  • AET qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to all residential workers and occasionally other employees.
  • Develop and maintain learning and training materials.
  • Lead the induction of new staff in designated regions.
  • Support the organization in ensuring services comply with Government Legislation, Regulations, and Standards, as well as Inspecting Body requirements.
  • Represent Compass Community’s Vision and Values while developing and providing a comprehensive learning ethos.
  • Understand and discuss residential regulations, child care law, and safeguarding issues.
  • Be a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Travel nationally.
  • Be proficient in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and willing to learn in-house databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload, and remain calm and professional.
