About The Position

We are looking for a Learning and Development Coordinator to join our Petrochemicals team in Freeport, TX. The Petrochemicals division is the starting point of BASF’s petrochemical-based value chains throughout the regions. The division manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of high-quality basic chemicals and tailored specialties for internal and external customers. As a Learning and Development Coordinator supporting the Acrylates plants at Freeport, you will be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and documentation of training curriculum for the Acrylates production and maintenance team, including specific process training, technical skills, refresher training, contractor orientation, and/or new employee qualification training as required. This job is responsible for continuous improvement in the areas of employee training and development, ensuring that job-specific and technical training is effective, consistent and sustainable.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a plant environment, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with operating procedures and equipment used in chemical manufacturing operations.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with DCS-based control systems and associated training requirements.
  • Experienced in managing or developing training in an LMS.
  • Experience administering training and hands on training.
  • Possess experience with PSM/RMP audits as well as PSM/RMP covered process.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your experience with employee coaching, instruction, in-the-field training, and classroom-style presentations to deliver effective training and development programs.
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and documentation of unit employee training and testing using Document Control Databases and Computer-Based Training programs to ensure compliance with Unit, Site, Corporate, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver one-on-one instruction, in-the-field training, and classroom presentations, while leveraging your knowledge of chemical process operations to support training requirements and equipment-specific learning initiatives.
  • Assess training needs, translate job requirements into training plans, and prepare and organize new procedures and training requirements into instructional materials using strong technical communication skills.
