About The Position

The Lean Transformation Manager will drive operational excellence at Siemens’ Electrical Products (EP) Electrical Distribution Equipment manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The role develops and executes a strategic transformation roadmap to achieve high performance, lean efficiency, and continuous improvement. It reports directly to the plant manager and leads an 11-person Lean team supporting a workforce of more than 1,200 employees. This is an on-site position working closely with production-floor teams. The position deploys Lean methods throughout the plant, develops the Lean team, improves material flow and production layouts, and builds Lean capability among employees. It also works with data analytics and automation teams to assess new technologies, prioritizing process fundamentals and stability before automation, robotics, or digitalization. Lean improvements are expected to support workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field; a combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or a related role in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading Lean transformation initiatives in a complex manufacturing setting, preferably electrical or mechanical assembly, with completed implementation and results.
  • Hands-on experience implementing production-line improvements, including flow design, material feeding, cycle-time reduction, time studies, line balancing, and factory layout.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies, social competence, and ability to influence culture and workplace habits.
  • Strong understanding of process fundamentals and stabilization, along with energy, creativity, persistence, and ability to engage and develop people.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical distribution equipment manufacturing.
  • Experience establishing or launching a production line in automotive manufacturing, rather than only operating within an established Lean system.
  • Experience implementing and running new production lines in a high-volume environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification from a recognized institution; Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and delivering Lean training to hourly and salaried employees.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automation in manufacturing processes.
  • Experience completing consulting engagements through full implementation and ownership of results.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy Lean tools and methods, including 6S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, across departments such as mechanical and electrical assembly, fabrication, material delivery, and robotic operations.
  • Lead and develop an 11-person Lean transformation team, providing direction, mentorship, and development while building succession capability.
  • Improve material flow and layout through flow design, material feeding, cycle-time analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity modeling.
  • Advance the factory’s transition from stationary builds toward continuous one-piece flow.
  • Facilitate Lean workshops, visual management, and Lean Thinker training for hourly employees.
  • Keep the Lean team focused on improving production systems rather than being permanently absorbed in daily production work.
  • Collaborate with data analytics and automation teams to evaluate technology, stabilizing and simplifying processes before introducing automation, robotics, or digitalization.
  • Integrate Lean principles into factory safety programs so process improvements also enhance workplace safety.
