About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lean Practitioner (Entry Level, Associate or Mid-Level) to BDS Lean Organization in Ridley Park, PA. As a Lean Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in driving Lean initiatives and mindset across the organization. You will be responsible for Lean activities and partnering with stakeholders to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. This position requires an understanding of Lean principles and methodologies, as well as the ability to guide teams and leaders in their Lean journey.

Requirements

  • 1 + year of experience using Lean Principles and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam Mapping, Process mapping, 5S)
  • 1+ year of experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Willing and able to work a variable shift (primarily 1st shift)
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and potentially international travel
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of Experience in Toyota Production System (TPS)/Boeing Production System (BPS) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Observes and supports with instruction in improvement tools and principles
  • Participates in teaching basic LEAN modules
  • Assists with process improvement
  • Helps gather data and information
  • Facilitate Lean activities and initiatives across various programs & functions
  • Apply applicable lean tools (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam mapping, Process mapping, 5s) and process analysis to identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in development, deployment and execution of integrated continuous improvement strategy and assist with its strategic deployment
  • Assist in development and implementation of Lean training programs for employees at all levels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts, facilitate cross-team best-practice sharing, and promote replication of successful process improvements across the organization
  • Utilize data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives
  • Educate stakeholders in Lean principles and practices
  • Prepare and present reports on progress and outcomes to management
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Lean methodologies
  • Represent Lean / continuous improvement function in program reviews and strategic planning
  • Operationalize data analytics into daily Lean practice and priorities
  • Connect Lean principles and strategy to execution and results – mature Seek, Speak, Listen and closed loop for continuous improvement
  • Tailors message to specific audience level
  • Leads and facilitates complex and high visibility process improvement efforts
  • Guides the effective application and integration of LEAN implementation
  • Applies and integrates improvement processes and tools across the site
  • Leads and facilitates the improvement and standardization of enterprise policies and procedures
  • Represents the LEAN improvements function in program reviews
