About The Position

The Operational Excellence Lean Engineer is based in our Franklin Park, IL facility. In this role you will provide leadership in the application of Lean Principles and Methods with a cross-functional team to drive improvement activities. This includes leading kaizen events that are aligned with the Companies Strategy Deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ Years Lean Experience
  • Advanced level experience working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with plant layout software
  • Willing to work extended hours and across multiple shifts
  • Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
  • Effective communication skills, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience converting at least two manufacturing cells from batch to single piece flow cells.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty, build assembly cells, re-arrange warehouse racks, clean, move, and maintain equipment.
  • Willingness to teach and mentor others in the knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Lead Kaizen Events with a cross functional team
  • Implement a Plan for Every Part
  • Implement Single Piece Flow Cells (creating continuous flow)
  • Implement 5S Program
  • Develop others on Lean principles and tools for implementing creative solutions for system and process improvements.
  • Implement Tugger / Water Spider Routes
  • Conduct SMED Events
  • Develop Flow Plan for Assembly Department
  • Drive Labor & Variable Cost Productivity
