About The Position

We are seeking a Lean Coordinator to contribute to the advancement of Lean practices at our Anoka, MN manufacturing facility. You will work alongside Continuous Improvement (CI) Leads and operations staff on the production floor, helping to observe processes, gather data, and support implementation of improvements. This role provides an opportunity to build your experience in continuous improvement while contributing to practical changes that make daily work more efficient and consistent. This is an hourly, permanent position and the job involves being present on-site 5 days/week in Anoka, MN. Typical hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment (operator, team lead, or similar hands-on role).
  • Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement concepts (5S, Kaizen, standard work, or daily improvement).
  • Ability to observe processes, identify issues, and contribute to the application of practical solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with production teams on the floor.
  • Willingness to learn Lean tools and apply them with guidance from CI leadership.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint), including prior use of Excel, with a willingness to learn more advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • A proactive approach and interest in transitioning from production into a continuous improvement role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean manufacturing and ongoing improvement efforts in the production environment, collaborating with CI Leads and production departments.
  • Spend time in manufacturing areas observing processes, measuring cycle times, and identifying waste and inefficiencies.
  • Assist with planning and execution of Kaizen events, including coordination, materials, tracking actions, and follow-up.
  • Help implement hands-on improvements such as 5S, visual management, shadow boards, and workspace organization.
  • Work with operators and team leads to document and improve standard work and daily processes.
  • Collect and track data related to downtime, throughput, and process performance, and share findings with the team.
  • Participate in daily floor walks (Gemba) to understand current state and support continuous improvement initiatives.
